Ahhh braces... I had them for 2 years and got them off when I was 15. I remember constantly running my tongue over them because they felt so smooth - it was unreal. Definitely wear your retainer as much as you can - I only wore mine for a year or so after they came off (only to bed), then it became less and less frequent. They say you should always put it in once in a while - I'm 26 now and the stupid thing no longer fits, meaning my teeth have shifted quite a bit. They still look nice and straight, but they do continue to move as you age. My bottom teeth are trying to move, but I still have that metal retainer cemented to the back of them. Looks like I may have it for the rest of my life... I haven't seen my ortho in at least 6 years.
