There is mesh on each side, but it doesn't open up to allow the head to peak out. She's only 7.5 lbs and short and stumpy so she's pretty small!! The bag itself is pretty large too, so i can't imagine wanting to go any bigger.

The size sounds perfect to me, i would love to see pics of it. I had a look at that gap bag online, and love it. Glad you recieved yours!
