The incision will still heal, even if it is covered some of the time. He should have something on him while you're at work and he's alone - but when you get home from work, I would just leave him with nothing on and keep an eye on him. If he's still able to get at his stitches then there is no point in bothering with the cone. Has the incision started to look red at all? Watch for redness and signs of infection - also watch that none of the stitches have pulled out. I think using a onesie or making up a little cotton diaper type thing would be just fine - Oscar and Ruthie healed up really well and i used a 'diaper' on both of them. Your boy will heal just fine - and better to be covered up then have him chew out his stitches or get an infection.

Sometimes we have to use our own discretion - and the advice of others. If something the vet suggests is not working, then we have to find alternatives. That's where YT comes in. Do what you think will work.
