You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers - we know all too well how you feel.
The below listed part of your post is almost word for word how our beloved Dexter left to go with the angels. I was holding him as he took his last little breath. He was so sick - I couldn't be selfish and want him here.
I know from experience this is a hard thing to deal with, but feel we are blessed to be the ones holding them as they took there final journey to be with Jesus.

We had to let Chuey go and rest. Chuey was pts tonight at approximately 8:30. We got to visit with him, my husband and two boys. And I got to hold him as the Dr put him to sleep. She listened to his heart and told me that it had stopped. She was very gentle and told Chuey his angels were here for him.

Know that Chuey loves you and knows how much he was loved. He was blessed to be a part of a wonderful family.
