Everyone already said what I would have said. When you do clip that area, make sure you don't get too close and NEVER touch the anal area with your cutting instrument. I am a bit surprised the worm check came up negative (only becuase of the scooting). As far as loose stool goes, did you change him from the food that the previous owner was feeding him? If he has teeth, don't be tempted to give him the canned dog food (causes loose stool). Good luck and let us know what it ends up being or if it just goes away. I am curious now that it doesn't seem to be either thing (almost always is one of the two).
