Meg, if the vet or vet staff did a temperature check, they would have noticed a swollen anal gland. However, those little glands can stop up fairly quickly. Try washing the bottom, clip away hair close to the rectum. The fact the his poo is a little on the soft side, may have something to do with it too. Holler back and let us know how it goes.
