Does anyone know what it entails if a package is lost and there is insurance? Is it a long drawn out proces with USPS and do you get monetary compensation? |
YES - it's a very long, drawn out process and very frustrating. We insured a package that we sent to my aunt in Canada that was lost and never found. It was lost before it ever got to Canada. We finally gave up on getting reimbursed because it was such a long process. BUT - I'd rather be safe than sorry. It was a busy season, so I'm sure they had a lot of claims.
I would prefer insuring than signature confirmation - the USPS people could be thieves also. Like in my case above, the package could be lost before the recipient ever has to sign for it.
