My neighbors beagle did that in my big pot outside. Also my neighbors cats lay in my smaller flower pots. It gets dirt everywhere on my porch. I have tried alot of things and nothing has helped my situation but I put watering cans in the small ones and a bear statue in the big one. They don't do it much at all in the summer when there are flowers in there. Also I have a big whiskey barrel for flowers too and I put a big garbage bag over it. It is cute to see them in there until you have to sweep up all the potting soil that they scatter everywhere
