Yes, England is one of the strict countries with bringing your pet = importing alive animal. From what I have read in the country's policy, regardless of which airline I use, my pup will be considered "cargo" and I can not have her with me.. I read the policies for different countries on continental airline webpage as well a while ago.
Yes, microchip, and not only health certificate/vaccination history, but also quarauntine seems to be required.

I have started application months ago with the consulate to get a permission, well, more like notifying them in advance (time frame they require me to notifying them that I am planning to import alive animal = my pup), I am just worried about quarauntine situation as well as stuffing her in cargo - doesn't the temperature get extremely cold in cargo? Well, I still have to do my research..
