 How often should mom be nursing 2 1/2 week old puppies?
Hi, our pups are 2 1/2 weeks old now and Katie is staying out of the whelping box quite a bit. How often should they be nursing now? They seem content, only whining once in awhile and she will go to them when she hears them. There have been a couple of time I made her get in and lay down and nurse because I thought they were hungry but then they just ate a little and cuddled and went back to sleep. They are still gaining weight although it has slowed down which I figure is normal. Am I being paranoid? I am just afraid that she is getting broken away from them since she is not staying in with them much. Should I try to make her or just let them be? Please give some advice? |
