Smile How did I get to be so lucky?

My first post:

Let me start by saying that I have ALWAYS wanted a Yorkshire Terrier. I figured I would get one when I was an old lady and my kids were grown and out of the house.

In October I was in a terrible car accident - my Toyota Corolla was hit head on by a 17 year old girl with no insurance in a Jeep SUV. I fractured my pelvis, messed up my shoulder and was out of work for 11 weeks. It was hard on me, my husband and my kids (ages 6 and 4). THe car was totaled, there was some misunderstanding with my disability paperwork and I wasn't paid for over 2 months, and on and on. But by Christmas I started to realize that I was lucky my kids had a mother that could still walk and talk and we were all going to survive this.

Around Thanksgiving my 4 year old daughter started talking about a Yorkshire terrier puppy. We went to my in-laws house for dinner and she started. My mother in law's neighbor had a Yorkie and she called her to come over and visit with the dog. It was LOVE at first sight. My little girl fell head over heels in love with this dog and was so sweet and gentle with her!

I started thinking about the accident and nearly getting killed and what could have happened. THen I started thinking "What am I waiting for?"

Long story short, after a few emails and visits to some BAD breeders, we found our puppy. Rosie came home last weekend and now I am kicking myself for waiting so long! She is just the sweetest little girl ever! I think she read the book about crate training because at 11 weeks of age, she seems to understand it! We live in New Hampshire and have had a week of the worst cold weather all season but she is a little trooper about going out and doing her business.

We are all just over the moon with this sweet little dog. I am so happy and so lucky that we found a good breeder and the best puppy!

I don't have any pictures to post yet (that's dh's department!) but will post one as soon as I can. Just thought I'd introduce myself - I've been reading this board for about a month now. Can't wait to get to know you and your Yorkies better!
