When I got my second yorkie she was infected with coccidia. I had never even heard of it. It was just too difficult to keep her isolated from our other yorkie and beagle so I just practiced good hygiene and gave her her medicine religiously. Then when the medicine was done as a precaution I had all three dog's feces tested and no one else had contracted it. I think the thought that bodies carry things for life can just alarm us mentally when actually we are carriers of many things for life that never harm us again like for example chicken pox. Just be glad with treatment it can be managed and not be serious. The breeder I purchased my yorkie from actually informed me of the condition at the time of sale and I still chose to purchase her because I was not afraid of the condition after a little studying. |
