Your doing really well for just learning. I would suggest moving th D ring higher. It works better when it's up close to rib cage. Also use either a wider bias tape or the heavy weave sold by the yard, that is as wide as the inside of the D ring. Everyone wanted me to make them something too when I first got started, but I just didn't have the time. Be careful.
