It's frustrating not to be able to take your dog places. I don't understand what harm a couple of small dogs could do. I have heard the excuse "some people have allergies", but they have to allow service dogs. That doesn't make sense. What do people with allergies when there are service dogs in a business?
I think the main problem, if they allowed small dogs, then people with big dogs would want the same treatment. Big dogs on leashes could be a problem( making messes or coming into contact with people who are afraid or don't like dogs). And face it, some people have no judgment. They'd bring dangerous dogs just to make themselves look tough, and sooner or later, someone could get hurt. So I guess, businesses just make a blanket policy on "no dogs" and refuse to make allowances to avoid conflicts.
I personally wish there was a law for small dogs, that if they were vet-certified healthy and immunized and confined to a purse, carrier or arms, they could go anywhere anytime. Maybe I should run for office. LOL.
