You are right they are not worth more money because the are double registered. that is silly.
I am in Canada so mine are registered here with the Canadian Kennel Club. If I sell one to the US it can be AKC registered although if going for a pet which it would be spayed/neutered first, it wouldn't matter if the owner bothered with AKC papers.
If it was going for show purposes, it would be AKC registered by the new owner submitting the Canadian Kennel Club papers to the AKC so they could show the dog and use it in their breeding program.
