Aren't we fortunate to have such a wealth of knowledge and experience, here? I would never have thought of this! Makes perfect sense, though - that's why the mom is always licking them!
Re nursing: Perhaps, until you get premie nipples, you could just dip your little finger in the milk, and let the pup lick, suck on that?
