I also use a square of fleece for blankets. You can get two blankets from a yard of cloth. Or if you want one like is advertised in the catalog, you can take the two sections and lay one section on top of the other, cut about 2-3 inch slits about an inch apart. Tie each section (top & bottom) together in a knot until you have a fringe all the way around the blanket. If you want fancy, you could get a plain, complementing color for your bottom layer. The hobby and sewing goods stores were selling sets of cloth to make these blankets only larger (throw sized) just a couple of years ago.
