I think you did the right thing with your baby. It would be a good idea to keep some Nutrical on hand for hypoglycemia, as it has many added nutrients in it. Another thing to keep on hand is Pedialyte (non-flavored) to help with dehydration since this almost always happens with lots of vomiting and well as diarrhea. If your pup won't just drink it, use a syringe and squirt it down the throat. They can lose several ounces quickly with the loss of body fluids.

There are many times we just don't know why our little ones get sick. Dehydration can take a little one down very quickly, so that is really the urgency in seeking treatment. A sub-cutaneous fluid injection can do wonders very quickly.

I wasn't aware of the spider thing either, but I do know that picking up a toad in their mouth causes the toad to secret poisons and make them VERY ill. Sissy has first hand experience in that department!!
