You might want to ask the vet to be sure. The only ingredient that is different is Glucosamine and many premium puppy foods contain that. The ads for the Plus do say for older dogs and those with arthritis though. That is why I would ask the vet first. This is one quote from the Pill Book for Pets concerning glucosamine and chondroitin:
"Puppies/kittens: There are no well-controlled studies in puppies and kittens. Oversupplementation of nutrients, minerals and vitamins may increase the risk of developmental diseases in growing pups. Use only if the benefits outweigh the risks. "
