 OMG ! I jsut brought home a 2 week orphan puppy,
Long story short, Momma died after a long birth. Vet sent new momma home with food and instructions, skin mom lost 2 the first 4 days, Brought back 3 to vet for help , Vet called after he got this little one gaining and asked if I would like a try...
He knew I had a penchant for yorkies, and sshih tzu and since these are purported to be a mix of the 2 .. well... here i am and I am SCARED TO DEATH.
This guy is so tiny . he is 2 weeks today and 6 ounces.
right now he is curled up in my lap snuggled into my electric blanket.
I am afraid to go to sleep!
He ate about 3 ml about an hour ago and I think I will try again in about 2 hours. Instead of a full 5 ml in 4 hours I am gonna split them up.
He Wont suck on a puppy nipple so I have been using a syringe . He seems ok but I know he wants to suck. I wonder if he will suck a preemie baby nipple? ALl I have is the silicone type on hand.
I know years ago when I nursed a whole litter of SHih tzu they loved a regular baby nipple.
