It will help them to sleep better and in turn help you to sleep better. 9-10 weeks is too young and they need companionship especially at night. Mine is 7 months old now and he still whimpers sometimes in the middle of the night when he can't see or hear me and after he checks on me to make sure I am on the bed, he goes back to his bed which is just right under my bed.
I would probably play with him before he sleeps so he feels tired. Let him poos and pees, and put him in the crate near your bed so he won't feel lonely. That is how I started chelsea when she was 10 weeks. At that time she can hold from 11.30 PM until 5.00 AM. I would probably feed him 3 times a day as long as he has a healthy appetide or give a bit of nutrical at night after he plays with you.
