It sounds to me like your baby wants to sleep with you. At that age, they really fear abandonment. After all, they were just taken away from their doggy mom. Can baby sleep in your room in the crate? You can put down a cheap vinyl shower curtain under the crate just in case of an accident. I had Gracie sleep with me in bed from the start and never had any problems with her crying at night. She had one accident on the bed. I banned her from my bed for a night or two. After that, she returned to sleep with me in bed, she would get restless and whimper a bit if she needed to use her pee pad. I take away her water by 7:00 pm to limit the night pee trips. Just this last week Gracie has mastered the bed stairs, so if she needs to go during the night she can now take herself. I am still feeding her at 7 PM and having great success with her sleeping through the night most nights.
