It depends on your litter, each is different as Sugar's Mom said her litter was ready real early. If your mom has plenty of milk, they might not be interested. I started my newest litter at 3 weeks, mom's milk was plentiful, but pups were gaining very rapidly and I was very frightened they were draining mom.
But, it doesn't hurt to try.....whatever they don't finish mom will....Remember when you're feeding pups, take mom out of the whelping area.
It's also very good to suppliment feed when they start teething....my doesn't readily let them nurse.
