This is called "buyer's remorse" in the sales world. We all like to second guess our decisions, especially when a lot of money (now and in the future) is involved.
No one else can know what decision is best for you. I think it is even harder with a puppy, because you put down the deposit and then have to wait. Too much time to reconsider back and forth. I did a little of that with my little girl. I knew I wanted her and the parents were both gorgeous. But she was bigger than my male and had longer legs. I worried she was not going to look right -- but she had the prettiest little face. I did buy her and she looks great. She is longer legged than my male, but she is just a larger Yorkie than him, as it should be if I ever get to breed them. I am so glad I got her!
If you are seriously worried about the puppy not being the ONE you want, maybe you should delay this. But, even if you get a puppy with perfect mom and dad faces, she could still wind up with a dark area. Many wind up keeping some dark on the face, and although it is a show fault, it doesn't take away from their pet value.
If you are just concerned because it is a lot of money and you can afford it fine, then I would not worry. What I would worry about though is ... if it is not a mutual decision between you and your husband, it could be a sore spot forever. Course these little babies sure have a way of winning the men over! I am no help at all, am I? Sorry.....
Good luck! Just be sure! |
