Hi and welcme to yorkie talk.
This Q came up recently and a coupleof the more knowledgeable breeders responded with the fact that most yorkies puppies have some white on them at birth. It is not rare or uncommon and not a condern. As the puppy ages it usually goes away and blends in and, if it doesn't it doesn't matter. It may be a slight "fault" under "show" rules, but it is still a beautiful yorkie.
I own a white and gold yorkie and the Biewers have a lot of white in them, The reasonis that the yorkie breed was developed tless than 200 years ago by breeding several kinds of terriers and the maltese. There will always be white popping up even thought the AKC breed standard says they should be black and tan.
Have fun on Yorkie Talk and congrats on your new baby!! |
