If you can get a good deal on a flight to go get your pup, that's what I would suggest. Some airlines will let you carry your dog on free as long as they are in an airline approved carrier. Some airlines charge a small fee to carry on and you must have the health certicate and shots up to date. I saw a lady put a pad down in the restroom on a plane to let her dog potty, then back in the carrier he went. Most flights with no layovers go quick, maybe you can drive 1/2 way and fly the rest. Kodak came on a plane and it's the same in the summer, they won't fly them out if it's to hot. I had to wait everytime the temperature was above 80*s for them to let him fly. He flew in a hour & a 1/2 flight with no problems from Oklahoma to Chicago. Even though people have had some problems, I had a good experience. It might be best to call & check with each airlines on how they fly the dogs. good luck |
