In your position, I would consider just selling the puppies w/o papers. BUT then you could end up with a bad reputation that you don't even know is being passed around.
On the other hand, I have males and if I had a verbal contract, I believe I would HAVE to be flexible. What if there were no girls in the litter? She doesn't sound like she had a good plan in place. I have seen and heard of litter after litter being born of the same sex. How could she not consider this? Sounds to me like she just wants the money. She figures she could get $1000 for a girl and she doesn't want anything less. Not fair. There should have been a fall back plan. Usually, POL is not a particular sex, usually it's the best of the litter.
