Zowie has always been jumpy, she is scared of loud noises, flyswatter, vacuum, and doors - My husband is sure she was hit by a flyswatter and slammed in a door as a puppy. I think she is just timid. Since she had her pups, she will bark when she hears one of us. When I walk in, I try to say 'it's ok girl'. If she starts barking first, I still try to reassure her it is me, it is ok.
My Bronx is the total opposite - tries to bite the lawnmower tires. He knows it is going to make a lot of noise. I have to shew him away from it. Of course, Zoe hides.
I also think it is their own personalities. Sure isn't from upbringing, they were 8 and 9 weeks old when we got them, same time. |
