You have two of the best breeds, a yorkie and a maltese.
I have 3 maltese and 2 yorkies.
The maltese in my experience are more of a lap dog, they are very loving but still very playful. Though I don't think they are as hyper as some yorkies are. And I have heard they are easier to train than a yorkie but from my experience they are about the same.
