I agree with Kimberly and Vee - talk to him, tell him how you feel. If it's something you don't need but want and can afford it, I personally don't see the big deal. However, if budget won't afford it, save up for it
Reminds me of the one and only time I mentioned wanting something to my dh and he said "go pick one out" (wanted an anniversary band). Well, I've never been one to just go pick out something for myself, usually spend extra $$ on the boys or dh. This time, I DID go pick something out for myself which surprised him (he didn't think I had it in me to do...LOL). And I'm still wearing it 10 years later
