I don't know if this is an appropriate forum to get information but here goes. We live in Taiwan and it is difficult to find knowledgable people who speak English, especially about yorkies. They are a very uncommon breed here, although yesterday I finally found a breeder who has one male pup (the breeder spoke no English at all!). I went to see him but am still unsure about buying him.

This is the situation. We have a four year old Coton de Tulear. When we moved to Taiwan six months ago he and his partner, our Skye terrier, were forced to go into quarantine. Our Skye picked up a terrible infection in the quarantine centre (apparently this is not uncommon) and after a grueling six weeks she died. Needless to say this was devastating for our family and our little coton. It is now four months later and we are thinking we would like to get a new puppy. Our Coton is lonely and I miss my terrier. We would like to get a yorkie. Do they get along well with other dogs? Our coton is a male (neutered). Should the yorkie be a female or does it not matter as we would alse have her spayed/ neutered.
