Yorkie Post Pregnancy Problems! HELP!! Hello Everyone! I am new here and I am currently frantic. I have a yorkie named Chyna who is going to be 7 years old next month. In November she had a run-in with a male poodle and ended up pregnant. This was completely unplanned. We have never had puppies before. My dog has a phobia of the vet since we took her there when she was 4 years old and the vet dislocated her leg and then denied it. Big drama. Since then my dog does not leave our house. Cars make her re-live the experience that she just gets sick in it. We have her groomer come to our house and make house visits. So as you can see we did not take her to the vet, we were too afraid she would have a miscarriage or something. She gave birth to a litter of 5 on Thursday. On Friday one of the two small and weak ones died. Saturday the second one died. Sunday, we were startled to find a dead puppy in her bed. It turns out she gave birth to another one 3 DAYS LATER; a dead puppy. She ate the placenta though and the umbilicle chord. Later that night (tonight!) she gave a birth to yet ANOTHER DEAD PUPPY. We are almost certain that we did see the afterbirth come out. She did eat some of the stuff but we removed the dead puppy and as much as we could. I have a big yorkie, I'm not too familiar with sizes, she weighs about 14 pounds, more when she was pregnant. She's not obese or anything, she's just very long. The vet always said she had never seen such a big yorkie, but she is pure. I can't imagine this is normal but I worry about the things she ingested. No animal hospital is open at this time and I don't know if anyone is online and knows about any of this but will this contaminate her milk? We still have a litter of 3 that are healthy and getting more active everyday. HELP PLEASE. |
