I travel to Louisville occasionally and am hoping to attend the show in March.
As a whole, I believe that the ordinances that have been put into place are there to protect our pets. There are a few that some breeders will disagree with...... like "tail docking should only be done by a vet".... (I believe that some breeders have experience doing this in a professional manner).

Here's an example of my opinion:
The SAD thing is there are a bunch of inexperienced idiots out there that will dock tails to save a buck, possibly hurting the little guys AND/OR completely botching it up ... making it too long or short because they are not familiar with the breed... which makes it bad for the professionals who try to keep the breed in "good standard". BUT, I also think that a professional would appreciate the efforts to keep the idiots from doing this crazy stuff and selling poor quality animals that they have no clue about what they are doing and have no business breeding in the first place. This is one example of one of the ordinances that has been put into place.

Just an opinion...... but I really think that the new laws were set up with good intentions. Maybe they could have consulted with some of the animal professionals in the area (some of the YTCA board members don't live too far from Louisville).. that may have helped with some of the "on the fence" issues.
Enough of my rambling...... don't get too flustered over my post if you disagree..... it is an opinion. I would love to hear what more people think! I could be just hitting the surface and someone could enlighten me on my thinking!
