It is unfortunately a catch 22- you want to save those poor dogs, but then again, buying them gives the pet stores more $$$ to go get more puppies and it never ends. I feel TERRIBLE for the dogs kept in horrible conditions. Like I said earlier, I feel that the best thing we can do is educate people. It amazes me how totally oblivious people are to the whole puppy mill/pet store scam. It's not their fault- they just don't have all of the facts. That is where we have to step in and tell as many people as we can. (TV- newspapers-friends,co-workers,ect!!)
