Ice Cream for 6qt freezer
Heat 1qt milk in double boiler, beat 6 eggs. When milk is hot, add a little to beaten eggs. Then stir eggs into hot milk. Continue heating and stirring until mixture slightly coats spoon. Remove from heat and add 3c sugar, 1t salt, 1pt cream, vanilla or extract to taste, and enough milk to full can.

It's from the 60's also and the only one that cooked the eggs. Also most people had their own chickens and cows. Lots of eggs and cream.
Check online there's probably recipies that are a little healthier.
