If you have set out poison for rodent control, I would definetly take him to the vet. It may be that the rodent was ill when your dog caught him. I don't set out any poison just because of this. My cats catch the mice and voles and my yorkies take them from them. But I haven't seen them eat them, they just play with them till they are dead and then I get to handle the rest.
