Wow, and after they've already gone since the night before without food?!?! That's insane
! I wouldn't leave a furkid overnight unless they had someone there AND that they were going to give some food. As long as you start with a tiny amount and make sure they're gonna keep it down, they can eat as soon as they are awake (JMHO) I'd be looking for a new vet, myself, as it sounds like they never thought about his size and how quickly they can go hypogylcemic when they are so tiny
