Question Registration and white markings

AKC registration - just both parents have to be AKC registration. They do want them to be both sound and to standard of the breed. You can know - I think- even register them online through AKC web site or by phone.

The white markings on the chest or paws will fade over the months. It is a sign of a good quantity of coat. This statement is from the well know breeders - Wildweir Yorkies - Joan Gordan and Janet Bennett. Check out their book: The Complete Yorkshire Terrier. They state on page 205 -"This is a much looked for point (white star or small blaz located on the forechest in tan, or across the black and tan) as an indication that the puppy will probably be a good coat grower in quantity, though not necessarily quality. It is also an indication that there will be no nelanism, or over-supply of pigment. It is not unusual to find small white marks on one or more toes, or a fine white line on lower forejaw. These will not be visible as an adult."
But they do state that "a large amount of white marks, on chest, paws, jaws or skull, places a Yorkie into tht tri-color classification and it is very wise to guard against this possibility."
I do not think this later is your case. My pups have had the small white markings before and they have turned out so beautiful.
