A lot of dogs learn their names early, so what do you do when you just fall in love with a dog but can't stand the name the original owner gave it? Re-name-train it or just deal with it?
I rescued Sheeba when she was 13 or 14 from an owner that left her outside during one of the coldest winters on record (living in Boston at the time) Sadly, she died of natural causes within a year I didn't rename her because of her age and because Sheeba had just been through so much. I thought it would be better to keep her name. Plus, I liked the name - even though it is a cat food. However, I would rename a dog that was younger.
