I put a leash on Gracie and attached it to my belt loop. She follows me around the house a lot so I figured this is the best way to be able to watch her and get her use to the leash at the same time.
It took us about a week and she would walk freely with the leash on. It also teaches them to stay by your side instead of out in front of you when walking on a leash which can be good in cases of being in public and her protection.
I would suggest putting the leash on for short periods inside the house as well. Worked for me! |
