It does fold up it's a little tough but it will all close together. as for durability it withstands my 20 month olds torture lol i think it is heavy enough that they wouldn't be able to tip it over. my only thing is Peeka thinks he is a cat and he can jump it but if your babies don't scale things you should be ok. Peeka jumps everything though even if it was 10 ft tall i'm sure he could get over it. I love the second one because you can shape it different ways i bought mine at target for like $60 or $70 bucks it's nice. buy it and try it if you order it from Walmart and don't like it just keep the receipt they will take it back
