Did the vet do any bloodwork? Infection shoud be ruled out before assuming it's a behavior problem
He may just be scared since he's in a new home and just needs time to adjust. I'd limit his water intake for now, just make sure that he gets a drink every couple of hours, and take him potty afterward.
