I'm feeding my boys Natural Balance Potato and Duck formula. It's for all life stages. Of course they like treats much better, but they'll still clean off their bowls with the kibbles. And no, if you just leave it out, he won't starve himself. I used to leave the kibbles out for 1/2 hr when bunjee was a puppy. If he goes on food strike, then I take the bowl away and he gets double portions at the next meal time and no treats after his meal. If he finishes his bowl then he gets a treat.

Now that they're both house trained, I leave kibbles out all the time but they really only eat 2x a day. once in the morning after our morning walk. and once at night after our evening walk.
