Hi! Welcome to Yorkie Talk- I'm a newbie too and am loving it so far- its a great source of info & sharing! I'm training my 12 week old right now too. He completely gets the "going outside" concept, but as I live in an apartment I want him to use wee-wee pads also. I've been doing what some of the others say: watch them closely (esp right after eating/drinking) and when u can see they're about to go, pick up & put on pad. I reward w praise & a treat after. If Ralfie does have an accident, I gently scold him & when cleaning it up, I blot the pad with it. Sounds gross, but they tend to go where there is already their smell. He's progressing pretty well so far. If I have trouble still in a few weeks, I'm going to try those grass scented pads. Every pup is different, but if you pay attention to how the little guy acts, you can pick & choose what works for them. Best of luck!!!
