After a couple of horrible experiences with vets, including unneccesarily losing my Starr, I found a new vet. This is what I did. Go to YTCA.org and find the breeder closest to you. Call them up and ask them what vet they use. If you can't find a breeder close enough, look on the AKC website for a breeder near you of ANY toy breed dogs.

Since these little ones can go downhill so quickly due to their tiny size, it's very important that a vet have a good knowledge of toy breeds and diagnosis of illnesses. You may even have to visit with a few vets before you find the right one, and that is best done BEFORE you need them for something urgent.

Good luck with your search! Maybe someone on here will have a great vet and live near you, ya never know.
