I now have three and don't regret it at all. (well ok, maybe early in the morning to go outside potty!) Mine are all females. I would recommed a female if you have a male. Just my opinion.
As for barking, right now my little pup barks the most but that is when she is trying to get the 2 older ones to play with her!
