We have a local dog park that we go to on the weekends. Sandy LOVES the small dog section and my children love the children's section, everyone is happy! (and please don't worry, my husband and I do keep my kids away from the animals, I know they are not all comfortable around children.)

I've tried to take Sandy to some stores (we are also in California) but with the exception Petsmart where she did her obedience class, no one allows dogs inside.
