If you have a nervous-type Mamma, it can be "iffy". I check on pups constantly the first 3 days...then almost constantly for 2 weeks. Everyone is settled in by that time. The pups don't produce enough body heat for those first 3 days and you have to watch for them seperating themselves or being smothered under mamma or blankets. Just when you think it is ok to breath, it is time for tail docking and dew claw removing (usually day 3). Things improve by the minute after day 4 it seems. I have been very blessed and haven't had any problems. However, I don't have a nervous Mamma. There was a nervous Mamma on here that killed her pups when left alone for a minute. ...that was so sad and heartbreaking . If it were me, I'd assume the worst, pray for the best, and watch like a hawk.

Feel free to PM me and I'll assist in any way I can.
