I know exactly how you feel. I had a similar experience back in September with my Scruffles except it was the Groomer's fault. Not only did he shave him, including his face and he looke like a baby chi, but he also cut him very badly and Scruffles required stitches. What I can tell you is that luckily, his hair grew back very quickly and he didn't care about the way he looked. Actually, he was more aerodynamic with less hair!
Anyway, Layla is beautiful regardless and although it's hard to get past the way she may look now, you'll get used to it.
