The reason I try to keep Chynna out of it is not due to age its due to the concentration I feed the older dogs.. she is not used to it and it will upset her tummy in larger amounts.. but she gets it in smaller amounts.. soon she can eat it with everyone else...
I would Just cut the dose down, I was feeding it at my vets recommendation when Paris was little... Pixie I did not start till she was a little older because I did not know much about it, but she was nowhere near a year... And my lab... His breeder has them all on it from day one... it was mixed in their feed.
If I were you... I would start them at about 4 months old, and start with the original formula, then when that lab gets to be about 1 switch to the plus... Their joints take a beating! They are so rough on them! There was a time when Charlie could not jump into the car by himself! I had to LIFT him. But now if you open the back hatch, he flies right in! Its the joint support in the Missing Link! Thank God! At 6 years old.. he is far too young to be an Old Man!
